| 2 c flour | 2 c sugar |
| 2 t baking powder | 4 eggs |
| 1/4 t salt | 2 t vanilla |
| 1/2 c shortening | Confectioners' sugar, cinnamon sugar or cocoa powder |
| 4 oz unsweetened chocolate | |
| Combine flour, baking powder and salt, and set aside. Melt shortening and chocolate in double boiler over hot water. Transfer to mixing bowl and beat in sugar. Add eggs. Stir in vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Chill at least 1 hour. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper, or butter them. Form balls 1 inch in diameter and roll in dusting sugar. Place 2 inches apart and bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes. Yield: 60-72 cookies. | |
